After many years of dreaming and planning the perfect space for our clients, volunteers, horses, animals and staff, we moved into our beautiful, state-of-the-art equestrian facility in September 2016.We have longed for a facility that honors the work we do, the people we serve, and those who assist us with delivering those services (both 2 and 4-legged). Whether you gave gifts of time, talent or treasures, you played a crucial role in helping us reach this milestone. Thank you!
The new facility includes: offices for our staff; clubroom space for the equine and animal assisted learning group sessions; a gathering space for our riders to stretch their bodies prior to riding and a place where their families and caregivers can watch in comfortable seating; a space for our dear volunteers where they can eat and relax between classes; a new tack room with plenty of space to store and keep saddles, pads, and bridles in good working condition and all within easy reach; laundry so that we can wash saddle pads and horse blankets; a grooming area where horses can be brushed and tacked for lessons and are within easy, safe access to our clients; a huge indoor riding arena that is temperature-controlled with oversize fans to keep it cool in the summer and heated to keep temperatures comfortable in the winter; and, of course, the pièce de résistance, an incredible 20-stall barn for our magnificent equine partners. Additionally, the new facility is kind to the environment and our natural resources since it is insulated with the highest R-value and features a geothermal heating and cooling system with radiant heat throughout the people spaces and the grooming and stall areas.
Most importantly, the new space gives our clients a healthy and accessible environment where they can be themselves and achieve their goals through the help of their supportive team of horse, instructor and volunteers. Main Stay now is truly a place where they can become strong, brave, and realize that yes they can.
This year marks Main Stay’s 30th anniversary. It seems fitting that we mark this tremendous milestone in this special new place. This has been possible only through your support and belief in our mission. Whether you gave to the capital campaign fund or our annual fund, or attended an event or volunteered your time, you have truly changed the world for Main Stay and the people we serve.
P.S. It’s not too late if you’re still interested in being a partner in our Build A Barn-Build A Life campaign. There are still funding opportunities available.
