There are many reports of PAN diagnosed during surgery for conditions such as acalculous cholecystitis, cirrhosis, and hepatic cystic lesions. However, to the authors\' knowledge, there is no report of PAN diagnosed through hepatectomy for hepatolithiasis. In our case, the patient presented with dilatation of intrahepatic bile duct associated with hepatolithiasis. The patient\'s symptoms did not suggest PAN, while abnormal immunologic and serologic tests did. We therefore performed hepatectomy to differentiate cholangiocarcinoma. During the postoperative period, the patient complained of progressively worsening foot numbness. We attempted to find the cause of the patient\'s neurological symptoms, and ultimately diagnosed the patient with neurological involvement of PAN based on the pathology of the resected liver that was compatible with a diagnosis of PAN. In conclusion, health care providers should consider PAN in patients who have no underlying disease or risk factors for hepatolithiasis

Well I wish we were here at the Parquet were back under much better circumstances, but a week after the NBA suspended its season indefinitely due to the coronavirus outbreak the Celtics have now been personally affected. Marcus Smart is the first member of the Celtics organization to test positive for the COVID-19 virus. He shared this video on Twitter yesterday to let fans know he’s alright and to stress the social distancing practices being implemented around the country and the world.
I was tested 5 days ago and the results came back tonight, which were positive. Ive been self quarantined since the test, thank goodness. COVID-19 must be taken w the highest of seriousness. I know it’s a #1 priority for our nations health experts, & we must get more testing ASAP pic.twitter.com/xkijb9wlKV — marcus smart (@smart_MS3) March 19, 2020
Of course, all Celtics fans are worried and concerned about Smart’s health but I believe that Marcus will attack his recovery head-on with the same fiery attitude he brings to the court every night and kick the coronavirus to the curb.
This news sucks especially with how well Marcus was playing this season and then a week later his life has done a complete 180. Smart was in the midst of the best statistical season of his career averaging career highs in minutes (32.5), points per game (13.5), assist per game (4.8), field goals per game (4.5), field goals attempted per game (11.9), and free throw percentage (83.5%). He also has set new single-game highs this season against Phoneix back on January 18th. Smart went off for 37 points on 13-25 shooting including 11-22 from three-point range which were all new single-game highs for Smart. 11 threes also set the Celtics new franchise single-game record.
This season was showing exactly why Smart was worth the investment of $52 million before the start of last season. The former 6th overall pick now looks like a bargain to the Celts at that price and still has two more seasons left on his deal. Now, all we can do is send thoughts, prayers, and support Marcus’ way
